The Tucker 48' failed (Unfortunately.) because:
Even though the public clearly showed an interest in the car, the government believed that the Tucker corporation was not a fully functioning, authentic company. They believed that the Tucker Corporation was a fraud and it's intent was not to make cars, even though we know that their intent was to make cars. They sold millions of dollars in stock to the public for a car that didn't even exist. They sold upgrades for a car that was still in prototype. Even after the 50 needed cars were produced, the government refused to acknowledge them. After 4 years of trial, they were acquitted on all charges, although their reputation was tarnished. Even though the car never succeeded, their story lives on and will continue to inspire.
