The car of tomorrow... today.
Preston Tucker’s “Tucker Turret” and Tucker 48’ created needed safety standards, catapulted American engineering into the next decade, and created revolutionary concepts that ultimately saved many lives, and lowered car crash fatality rates. His ideas led the automakers in Detroit to change their cars and create new safety standards as well. He added an air-cooled engine, a steering wheel mounted instrument panel, shatterproof glass, and seat belts, which were rare in cars at the time, and made the car safer to ride and drive, leaving a safety legacy upon the world.
