Egan, Phillip S. Design and Destiny: The Making of the Tucker Automobile. N.p.: n.p., 1989. Print. This book was a first-person narrative from a person who worked alongside Tucker in the development of the car. This would be a secondary source, and helped me figure out the history of the car, and the vision of the general public of the car.
Linde, Arvid. Preston Tucker & Others: Tales of Brilliant Automotive Innovators & Innovations. Dorchester: Veloce, 2011. Print. This book helped me truly understand Preston Tucker’s background, his motivation, and the car itself. This secondary source was a broad overview of the span of Tucker’s life, and the life of the car. I will use the proof of the features of the car and his prior background in the automotive industry.

This image is a secondary source that showed in my research that since the release of the Tucker 48, car crash fatality rates decreased. This graph is an overview of fatalities in car crashes. I will use it to create a graph to see the decline of the fatality rate in car crashes.

This website helped me understand why the Tucker Car failed, but also why it could have helped the economy. This secondary source was an overview of the car’s history. I will use it to show how Tucker used his profits, and how the car unfortunately failed.

This website is a Secondary source as it was not written by the person the website is written about. The website contains information about Preston Tucker, the developer of the car and CEO of the Tucker Automotive Company. research was assisted by this website in the fact that it gave me information about his experience prior to the development of the Tucker car, and his life after the car stopped prduction.
“Torpedo on Wheels.” Science Illustrated Dec. 1946: 62. Print. This article explained what the Tucker Corporation had in mind for the Tucker 48. In this primary source, I found the Tucker Corporations plans for the Car. It is a general overview of the car, and does not go into much detail.
Tucker, Preston T. Gun Mounting and Control Mechanism. Tucker Aircraft Corp, assignee. Patent US 2408707 A. 16 Aug. 1941. Print. This primary source had information about the gun Mounting turret that was created by Tucker, and showed his innovation skills. I will use it to show his innovations.
Tucker, Preston. Steering Wheel Mounted Instrument Panel. Patent US 2465825 A. 29 Mar. 1949. Print. This primary source was published by the person I was researching, Preston Tucker. It showed that he could innovate a capable invention, and would have improved the Tucker 48

their motivations were towards the car.

This video was a Primary source documenting the Tucker Combat Car, and showed the safety features of the vehicle. It helped show that Tucker was capable of creating a safe vehicle, and his ingenuity carried over into the Tucker 48.
